October 2011 Screening

16 October 2011

This month's screenings are RANGO and NEVER LET ME GO.

Come along before the screening time and visit the sweet shop and bar; doors open half an hour beforehand. Meet up with the other cinema-goers, and let us know which films you have liked and would like to see.

We are keen to make the showings as sociable as we can. You are welcome to stay for a drink and a natter after the showings.

Entry on the door costs £4, or an annual season ticket costs £40; that's two showings free.

Afternoon Screening

RANGO (PG)

Doors open 1:30pm. Showing starts 2pm. Running Time 107m. £4 on the door. Released 2011.

Johnny Depp stars as a pet lizard who falls out of a car in the desert, and earns a heroic reputation as a gunslinger.

"Rango has more invention to the minute than almost any other movie this year ... it delivers action, strangeness and sheer visual impact."
- Kim Newman, Empire Magazine.

Evening Screening

NEVER LET ME GO (12a)

Doors open 7:30pm. Showing starts 8pm. Running Time 103m. £4 on the door. Released 2010. Director Mark Romanek. Starring Keira Knightley, Carey Mulligan, Andrew Garfield.

From Kazuo Ishiguro's 2005 novel. Three Hailsham pupils have a very particular destiny ...

"A beautifully realised adaptation of a profoundly affecting novel. Intelligent sci-fi provides the backdrop, while in the foreground is a trio of truly impressive performances from Mulligan, Knightley and Garfield."
- Dan Jolin, Empire
