Ratatouille went down well with the kids in the afternoon, but the evening showing of Life in a Day was something else.
We had picked a film quite different to any we had shown before, and were a little nervous about its reception.
But Life in a Day is beautifully made with a real warmth for the common themes and amazement at the variety of detail in the human experience. The audience were initially sceptical of the film's use of You Tube clips, but were hooked 10 minutes into the film and their interest was sustained by the themes and characters which run through the film. The exit poll showed nine votes for 'Brilliant', three votes for 'Good', with no other votes.
Seventeen people paid to see Ratatouille. The exit poll showed the audience enjoyed the film; thirteen people said the film was 'Brilliant', with no other votes.
Nineteen adults came to the evening showing of Life in a Day. Again the exit poll showed the film was enjoyed; nine people rated the film 'Brilliant, and three people rated it 'Good', with no other votes.
We began July with £29.88 in the kitty. Entry fees totaled £144.00, and £22.10 was taken at the sweets and drinks counter. The film licences cost £172.00. So we end July with £23.98 in the kitty.
