15 April 2012 Screening

Scrooby Community Cinema

This month's screenings are DIARY OF A WIMPY KID: RODERICK RULES and KIND HEARTS AND CORONETS.

Come along before the screening time and visit the sweet shop and bar; doors open half an hour beforehand. Meet up with the other cinema-goers, and let us know which films you have liked and would like to see.

We are keen to make the showings as sociable as we can. You are welcome to stay for a drink and a natter after the showings.

Entry on the door costs £4.

Afternoon Screening

DIARY OF A WIMPY KID: RODERICK RULES (U)

Doors open 1:30pm. Showing starts 2pm. Running Time 99m. £4 on the door. Released 2011.

This time it's Greg Heffley's big brother Rodrick who provides him with trouble when the pair find themselves home alone for the weekend.

Directed by David Bowers. Starring Zachary Gordon, Devon Bostick and Robert Capron.

"David 'Flushed Away' Bowers brings a lot of slick, comic energy to his first live-action feature, making it funnier and faster than its charming predecessor." - The Guardian.

Evening Screening

KIND HEARTS AND CORONETS (U)

Doors open 7:30pm. Showing starts 8pm. Running Time 106m. £4 on the door. Released 1949.

The Ealing classic starring Alec Guinness!

Directed by Robert Hamer. Stars Alec Guinness, Dennis Price and Valerie Hobson.

"The most sophisticated and blackest of the Ealing comedies, Hamer's immaculate, serial-killer romp gives the splendid Guinness the roles of a lifetime." - Film4

"At once a witty comedy of manners, a grotesque serial-killer caper and an acerbic satire on the class system." - Time Out

This film receives 100% on the Rotten Tomatoes film review website; all critics give it a great write-up!

See you on the 15th
