Minutes of Scrooby Parish Council Meeting
MONDAY 9th May 2011
SCROOBY VILLAGE HALL
1. PRESENT
Ed Marshall - Chair, Heidi Robbins, Christine Bailey, James Arrowsmith, Dennis Brooke, Sheila Firth
Also present: DC Barry Bowles, PCSO Catherine Phillips
Due to non-election of previous councillors, Christine Bailey and Dennis Brooke, the meeting was not quorate. However, as the two ex-councillors were present we deemed it correct procedure to approve the minutes from the last PC meeting. As noted below, other matters were postponed until and an adhoc meeting of all elected councillors could be arranged

3. Minutes of April Meeting
Proposed as a true record by James Arrowsmith and seconded Heidi Robbins. All agreed.
4. Matters Arising
DC Bowles suggested we write to Sheila Place at NCC in Harworth about the changes/cancellations to buses. He believed that individual letters would have a greater impact on the bus operator than a petition. Chair & Parish Clerk to contact Stagecoach in the first instance.
5. Correspondence
Emails were received by the PC regarding the potential sale of the lakes in Scrooby. Lakes are privately owned and nothing to do with PC.
6. District Councillor's report
The new DC, Barry Bowles, had no report to give as it was his first meeting. He gave his contact details to the Clerk.
7. Finance Report
No finance report was submitted as the Treasurer was not present.
8. Police Report
The new PCSO Catherine Phillips attended the meeting and gave her contact details to the Clerk. She reported that she had spoken to the owner of Andrew Neil Car Sales about parking cars on the footpath. She had also spoken to some of the young people and warned them not to use the lakes for swimming.
9. Planning and Village Plan
No planning applications have been received.
10. Play Area
Nothing yet to report, awaiting quotes for fencing.
11. Village Hall
Quotes have been received for repairs to the village hall, quotes will be accepted when the Council is quorate.
12. Environment
Nothing to report.
13. Neighbourhood Watch Scheme
Nothing to report.
14. Any other business
The Council members agreed to hold an ad hoc meeting of the Council the following week on the 19 May 2011 to deal with matters requiring formal approval.

Classic French Night
24 February is Classic French Night at the Pilgrim Fathers pub in Scrooby. Three course meal. Booking essential.
Great British Pie Week
Between 5 and 11 March the Pilgrim Fathers pub in Scrooby is celebrating Great British Pie Week. Pies will take over the menu. Pies of great variety.
Open Mic Night
7 March is Open Mic Night at the Pilgrim Fathers pub in Scrooby. Come along and listen, or even better; join in!
Mothers Day
Take your Mum out for Mothers Day on 18 March. A special Mothers Day menu will be available between 12 and 6pm.
Wine Tasting Night
5 April is Wine Tasting Night with sommelier Kevin Sandbrook. Wine will be matched to a three course dinner. £25 per person including food and wine. Please book early.
