Scrooby Parish Council Minutes 07 09 2009
Monday 7th September 2009 7.30pm Scrooby Village Hall
1. Present

3. Minutes of Last Meeting
Proposed as a true record by Dennis Marshall and seconded Dennis Brooke. All agreed.
4. Matters Arising
None to be addressed
5. Correspondence/Declaration of any other business
Purchase of the red phone box to be discussed at the next meeting.
6. District Councillor?s Report
Terry apologised for being unable to attend the Village show. He informed the PC that BDC had made a donation of £150 towards the marquee.
Terry will also send out the forms to Chris the clerk for a donation towards the cost of the Senior Citizen?s Christmas party.
7. Finance Report
Dennis Marshall reported to the PC that a gas bill has still not been received. Dennis will again read the meter and send the reading.
Payment is still outstanding for the replacement window. The window should be delivered within the next two weeks.
Status presented. See appendix A attached.
The PC all agreed to increase the hourly rate for the Litter Picker to £6.
8. DSA Robin Hood Report
Nothing to report.
9. Police Report
None given
10. Village Plan/Planning
No progress on Village Plan, it is still with BDC.
Planning permission granted to Mr and Mrs Arrowsmith by BDC to demolish existing conservatory and erect a single storey side extension and covered walkway at 3 Holmefield Croft.
11. Play Area/Village Hall
Play Area
Net is still outstanding for the climbing frame in the play area. James Arrowsmith to supply.
Matt Pollard will do the repairs to the chicken.
The branch has fallen off the diseased tree in the play area. No damage was caused to the Play Area.
Mr Forestry from NCC inspected the tree and will send his report. The tree may need to be cut back.
The goal posts have been delivered for the Croft and are awaiting installation.
The PC has agreed that the unlevelled surface on the Croft will be left at the present time.
The fence on Manor Road around the Croft needs repairing, Dennis Brooke is to contact Steve Swannack to get a quote for the cost of posts being put in place.
Village Hall
The new window should be delivered within two weeks.
12. Environment
Mr Scholey has been contacted regarding the Mattersey Footpath. The footpath is very overgrown and it is difficult to walk across. Mr Scholey has informed the PC that field that the footpath crosses will be cut and also the pathway along the river side will be cut.
Mr Scholey informed the PC that works in the quarry will not be completed this year. Work will start again next year and the quarry will probably be flooded in between times.
Mr Scholey also asked if the village would want to lease the Quarry. This will be discussed further by the PC.
13. Any other business
The neighbourhood watch in the village needs to have the profile raised. Matt Pollard will talk to Mr Gary Coombes who has shown an interest in being the lead coordinator. Matt Pollard is prepared to take on this role if Mr Gary Coombes is no longer interested.
