Parish Council Minutes
Monday 6th April 2009 7.30pm Scrooby Village Hall
1. Present
Ed Marshall, Dennis Marshall, Heidi Robbins, Matt Pollard, Dennis Brooke.
Also present; DC Terry Yates and Mr Crow resident Scrooby
2. Apologies

3. Minutes of Last Meeting
Proposed as a true record by Heidi Robbins and seconded Matt Pollard. All agreed.
4. Matters Arising
Dog signs have now been purchased.
5. Correspondence/Declaration of any other business
A letter has been received from the Star requesting a donation. The PC all agreed to donate £175.
6. District Councillor?s Report
Terry informed the PC that their would be a county council election in june.
Retford town centre will be getting a street clean up. Renovation of Retford Town square will take place, Money has been set aside for business growth/ Business start ups.
There is money available for grants - Ed unsure of details.
7. Finance Report
A request for the annual returns has been received from the auditors. They will be sent by July.
A bill for the gas used in the village hall has still not been received. Dennis will chase up supplier.
The PC all agreed to accept the quote for this years grass cutting from NNL.
Dennis will look into quotes from different insurance companies regarding liability for the whinze.
8. DSA Robin Hood Report
Nothing to report.
9. Police report
None given.
10. Village Plan/planning
No planning issues this month.
11. Play Area/Village Hall
A net is still to be sourced from James Arrowsmith for the play area.
Awaiting quote from NNL to remove the chicken from the play area.
New ladders have now been purchased for the village hall.
The village hall open day had been a great success.
The PC thanked the village hall committee for arranging the open day.
12. Environment
Heidi informed the PC that work had finished on the Pinfold. Work would now be started in the play area.
Samples have been returned from the diseased trees. Samples have come back clear however it could be that the samples were too poor to test.
The Drains outside Izzy and Ed Marshalls have exploded. All repair has now taken place.
Dennis Brooke expressed his concern regarding countability for any accidents on the whinze. Dennis Marshall expressed that this had been discussed at a previous meeting. The current insurance covers the PC for public liability however he will look into the fine detail and also seek other quotes.
13. Any other business
Heidi informed the PC that she would be going on maternity leave and would miss the next two meetings.
Dennis Marshall informed the PC that Mr Gary Coombes has shown a strong interest in fronting up the neighbourhood watch.
