Scrooby Parish Council Minutes 02 11 2009
Monday 2nd November 2009 7.30pm Scrooby Village Hall
1. Present
Ed Marshall (Chair) Heidi Robbins, Dennis Marshall, Matt Pollard, Christine Bailey.

2. Apologies

3. Minutes of Last Meeting
Proposed as true record by Heidi Robbins and seconded Matt Pollard. All agreed.
4. Matters Arising
The PC is unsure at the present time when the telephone box on Chapel Lane will be disconnected. The PC has been informed that electricity will be left connected in the phone box.
5. Correspondence
Nothing to discuss.
6. District Councillor's Report
DC Terry Yates reported that he had received a grant application for the Scrooby Senior Citizens Christmas party. Terry is giving a grant of £100.
Terry also reported that he had received a letter from Mr Peter Lewington Editor of the STAR newsletter. Terry informed the PC; Peter is looking for an assistant to help to produce the STAR. Ed Marshall reported that the PC had also had the same letter.
The Christmas lights will be turned on 24th November at 6.30pm in Worksop and 1st December at 6.30pm in Retford. Retford will also have a charity market.
6. Finance Report
Present status presented see appendix A attached.
The broken window in the village hall should be replaced within the next week. The bill will follow.
Cheques presented for payment and approved by the PC.
7. DSA Robin Hood Report
Nothing to report.
8. Police Report
None presented.
9. Village Plan/Planning
The village plan is still with BDC.
No planning this month.
10. Play Area
The goal posts are to be put in place on the Croft.
The play net is now be redesigned by James Arrowsmith.
Matt Pollard is to fix the chicken.
Matt has repaired the pads on the side of the climbing frame. Heidi is to order some spares.
11. Environment
New fly tipping notices have been put up on Mill Lane it is hoped this will reduce the amount of fly tipping.
Dennis Brooke is to source a quote for putting posts around the Croft on the Manor Road side, also the fence needs repair.
12. Any other business
Ed reported that the Mobile library is not being very well attended.
Heidi reported that the times have been changed when the library is in the village and this makes it difficult for people with young children who need collecting after school.
Matt Pollard has agreed to become the main co-ordinator for the Neighbourhood Watch and will contact the co-ordinators in due course.
Heidi reported that the Gardening Club have been raising money for a picnic bench in the play area.
Chris the Clerk reported that due to lack of fund raising this year there may be a short fall on funds for the Senior Citizens Christmas party. The PC all agreed that they would make a donation should there be a shortfall.
