Parish Council Minutes
Monday 1st June 2009 7.30pm Scrooby Village Hall
1. Present
Ed Marshall, Dennis Marshall, Heidi Robbins, Dennis Brooke, Tracy Crowe, Christine Bailey.
Also Present: DC Terry Yates. Three members of the Scrooby over 50?s club also attended the PC meeting.
2. Apologies

3. Minutes of Last Meeting
Proposed as true record by Dennis Marshall and seconded Dennis Brooke. All agreed.
4. Matters Arising
£175 donation has been sent to the Star.
5. Correspondence/Declaration of any other business
Mr P Scholey of Rotherham Sand and Gravel has written to the PC to inform them he will be starting quarrying soon and the fence will be repaired around the quarry site before he starts work.
Tracey Crowe has received a grant application form from BDC.
6. District Councillor?s report
DC Terry Yates reported that it is the end of the council year and local elections are due to take place.
Terry was asked about the possible removal of the gypsy camp at Gibbet Lane. Terry informed the PC that it is very difficult to move Gypsies on. There are regulations to be followed and it takes a long time.
7. Finance Report
Dennis has received quotes from different insurance companies. However the present insurance company covers all public liability for anything that is the responsibility of the Parish Council.
Present status presented. See attached appendix a.
8. DSA Robin Hood Report
Nothing to report.
9. Police Report
None given.
10. Village Plan/Planning
No planning issues this month.
11. Play Area/Village Hall
Goal posts are to be purchased for the Croft. Tracy has received quotes of approx £500 for 2 goalposts. Tracey has been asked to place an order.
New safety net is still needed for climbing frame. James Arrowsmith is to supply.
12. Environment
The creative gardening team have finished the Pinfold and have now started work in the Play Area. A community gardening day has been arranged for Saturday 11th April.
The tree specialist from NCC has contacted Ed and said that if NCC has money available they will replace the trees that were chopped down at the bottom of Station Lane.
The tree specialist will also come out again and have a look at the diseased chestnut tree and see how much work needs to be done to save the tree.
13. Any other business
Ed is to contact Mr G Coombes with regard to building the profile of the neighbourhood watch.
Three members of the Village over 50?s club attended the Parish Council meeting. They attended the meeting to request that the PC gave financial support towards the running of the over 50?s club. The PC explained that they would not be able to give financial support to the group as there are many groups being run in the village and it would be impossible to help them all financially.
